Hazmat Response
Strategic Security Corp. recognizes that certain organizations require unique services. Whether it is bulk storage, handling and use of hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or fire protection systems in high-rise buildings, SSC has specialists on hand to assist you.

SSC's Fire Safety and Hazardous Material Consultants can assist with: developing written fire safety and emergency response programs, review and evaluate existing fire safety and emergency response programs, coordinate a facilities fire safety / life safety compliance audit, Tankers Transiting Oil Shipping Lanes and Bulk Storage.

Fireguards
Strategic Security Corp.'s Fire Protection Agents are certified by the City of New York as licensed fire guards and possess a certificate of fitness issued by the fire department. NYC Local Law #5/73 and 41/78 (Fire Safety in Places of Public Assembly) require one fire guard for every 100 occupants.

In the event of a fire, each floor of the building comes under the direction of a designated fire guard. These people are responsible for the evacuation of staff in his or her area. Each fire guard will be familiar with the fire safety plan, the location of exits and the location of fire extinguishers and operation of the fire alarm system.

In the event of a fire alarm, the fire guards see that all staff and visitors on the floor are notified and all are evacuated to a safe area. Fire guards conduct searches of all rooms and lavatories, to ensure that everyone is out. After the evacuation, the fire guards perform a head count to ensure all staff is accounted for. Fire guards keep track of occupancy and inform the Fire Safety Director and any FDNY inspector / Fire Marshall of occupancy count. In addition they will enforce NYC Smoke Free Air Act - Local Law 47.
